To EVERY MALE on the planet...

I thought this was pretty awesome, my friend and sister wrote this. (Mish Smith)  I saw it on Facebook so I had to share it with the world. I hope you all enjoy.

Figuring Out Goals

Today I woke up on the wrong side of the bed.  I woke up feeling real bad about myself, and I felt real defeated.  I felt like I have not been making any progress in my life; and I felt like my dreams were at a standstill.  Once I was done with my little pity party ( everybody needs one every now and then),  I decided to do something about it.  I decided to write out my goal because I have lost sight and direction of what I want to do in this life.  So here are 6 questions that I came up with to guide you through the process of making goals.  Ask yourself these questions:

  1. What do you do I like? What do I feel passionate about? What could I see myself doing for free?
  2. What limitations do I feel stop me from fulfilling my dream?
  3. What things make me feel like I can achieve this dream/goal?
  4. What are some ways that I can turn around these limitations?
  5. What are 3 things that I could do now to start working on my dream?
  6. What are 3 longterm goals that will help me manifest my dream?

Here is one of my goals that I decided to share with you all.

1.)What do you do I like? What do I feel passionate about? What could I see myself doing for free?

I feel passionate about people's health.  I have a deep passion for living a holistic, healthy lifestyle.  I see how the overall health of our people has drastically decreased, and I want to change that.  I want to be a doctor.

2.)What limitations do I feel stop me from fulfilling my dream?

  • I always feel like I am not smart enough.
  • I always give excuses or negative talks to myself because I feel inadequate sometimes
  • I feel like I wont be able to pay for school
3.)What things make me feel like I can achieve this dream/goal?

  • I feel like I can because caring for others is my passion.  Making sure that people are living their best life makes me happy.
  • I feel like I can because my grandpa who grew up in Los barrios de Cuba, came from extreme poverty to becoming a pediatrician in the United States. So greatness runs in the family.
4.)What are some ways that I can turn around these limitations?

Affirmations:
  • I am smart enough to get into med school and graduate with high honors.
  • I will have more than enough money to pay for school.
5.)What are 3 things that I could do now to start working on my dream?
  • research
  • affirm every day that I CAN do this
  • pray to make sure this is what the Most High wants for my life
6.) What are 3 longterm goals that will help me manifest my dream?
  • MCAT prep and classes
  • look for integrated medicine training
  • find holistic Dr. Mentor

This Is just my own personal goal and example; you can write out your goals anyway you please.  So enjoy manifesting your dreams.

The heart of Life

Life is so bittersweet.  There are moments that make us overjoyed and happy and then there are moments that will have us crying and left feeling hurt. But I have learned that life is truly what we make it.  Our perceptions and the things that we hold as important influence that.  In my 20 years of living I have learned so much (and trust me I am still learning every day).  But I have come to realize that through all of the mess and adversity, life is truly beautiful.  Today I was crying not because I was sad, but because I was happy.  I was remembering all of the things that I have gone through,  and in retrospect I realized how far I have come as a woman and as a human being.  It made me not only want to continue life, but to continue life with zeal.  I am excited for the woman that I will become, and I am excited for the experiences are to come, whether good or bad, because I know that they will help me to become the Queen that I am destined to be.  And not only am I excited for life because of personal growth, I am excited for the people in my life.  I am excited for the new flowers that will bloom in all of the upcoming springs.  I am excited for the beautiful clouds in the sky.  I am excited for the music that will be made in the future.  The song that I chose to go with this post is Heart of Life by John Mayer.  He talks about the pains of life but also the joys of life and how ultimately life is good.

Peace, Love and blessings,

Black Gold

Hold your head as high as you can
High enough to see who you are, little man
Life sometimes is cold and cruel
Baby no one else will tell you so remember that

You are Black Gold, Black Gold
You are Black Gold

Now maybe no one else has told you so
But you're golden, baby
Black Gold with a diamond soul
Think of all the strength you have in you
From the blood you carry within you
Ancient men, powerful men
Built us a civilization

They'll be folks hell-bent on putting you down
Don't get burned
Not necessarily everyone will know your worth
Think of all the strength you have in you
From the blood you carry within you
Ancient men, powerful men
Built us a civilization

Think of all the strength you have in you
Powerful, powerful men
Built us a civilization

Hold your head as high as you can
High enough to see who you are, little man
Life sometimes is cold and cruel
Baby no one else will tell you so remember that

You are Black Gold, Black Gold
You are Black Gold

There'll be folks hell-bent on putting you down
Don't get burned
Not necessarily everyone will know your worth
Think of all the strength you have in you
From the blood you carry within you
Ancient men, powerful men
Built us a civilization

Think of all the strength you have in you
Powerful, powerful men
Built us a civilization

Hold your head as high as you can
High enough to see who you are, little man
Life sometimes is cold and cruel
Baby no one else will tell you so remember that

You are Black Gold, Black Gold
You are Black Gold

Think of all the strength you have in you
From the blood you carry within you
Ancient men, powerful men
Built us a civilization

All the strength
All the blood
That you carry
Ancient men
Powerful men
In you
Built us a civilization

Hold your head as high as you can
High enough to see who you are, little man
Life sometimes is cold and cruel
Baby no one else will tell you so remember that

You are Black Gold, Black Gold
You are Black Gold

You are Black Gold, Black Gold
You are Black Gold

You are Black Gold, Black Gold
You are Black Gold

You are Black Gold, Black Gold
You are Black Gold

Hold your head as high as you can
High enough to see who you are, little man
Life sometimes is cold and cruel
Baby no one else will tell you so remember that

You are Black Gold
You are Black Gold
You are
You are
You are
Hold your head up
Don't give up
You are Black Gold
You are
You are
Black Gold
Black Gold, Black Gold, Black Gold

This is my body..

Today as I was on my tumblr, I found this really incredible video.  This video is a monologue about women, and our rights for our own bodies.  This video really touched me because I am a woman who believes in empowering other women.  This video is pure empowerment and inspiration.  It tells us to take control over what happens to our temples (bodies).  We are women and we are also human.  So please enjoy.

It's been a while, but I'm back in town.

Happy February everyone! I know I have not updated in a long time. But I am ready to come back.  I have been having so much inspiration, that I have to share my new love for life with others. These last few months have created memories that I will cherish forever.  My stay in Thailand is almost half-way over.  It is such a bittersweet feeling.  I have learned so much about myself and life in this short period of time.  So stay tuned, I want to share with you all the things that I find interesting, entertaining, inspiring and life changing.  Let's take this journey together.

1love,

Eclectic Soul
